COURAGEOUS Guitarist Quits

November 4, 2008

Guitarist Gerd Lücking, who recently became a proud father, has decided to leave the Frankfurt, Germany-based metal band COURAGEOUS in order to focus on family life. Gerd's last show with COURAGEOUS will take place on Wednesday, November 12 at the Nachtleben in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. The concert, which was originally intended as a 10th-anniversary celebration for the band's first album, "Listen", will now also double as a farewell performance for Lücking.

"This a shock for us," commented Chris Staubach. "We are very disappointed, but we totally understand his decision. The only thing we can do is to make his last show as killer as possible. Now the anniversary show has a happy and a sad face."

"Gerd joined the band exactly ten years ago while we were recording our first album," stated guitarist Oliver Lohmann. "There is no perfect time to leave the band, but now it's like the end of a circle. Another chapter in the band's history is done."

COURAGEOUS' last album, "Downfall of Honesty", was released in 2006 via Mausoleum Records. The group has since parted ways with the company.

"Downfall of Honesty" was recorded at Black Solaris studios in Frankfurt, and was produced by Uwe Lulis and COURAGEOUS.
